30 Day Squat Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge!?

I’ve been telling myself to work out, but let’s face it… I’M SLIPPIN’!  I’ve been seeing my social network feeds flood with selfie pictures of my friends at the gym showing results, muscles, and progress. Even seeing my husband, who is a fitness freak, transform from a normal skinny guy into the sexy muscle man he is now, is just as motivating.  I want to transform too! Not only to look good, but to feel good and healthy. I’m sure many of you have seen the trending “30 Day Crunch Challenge,”30 Day Squat Challenge,” or “30 day ___ Challenge.” I thought I’d actually give the squat challenge a try since working out my legs and butt is my favorite. I also found that there isn’t that many “before and after” pictures that show results of this challenge, so I thought I’d be one of the few who did.

Today I started the challenge with 2 sets of 25 squats holding a 20lb dumbbell, and will continue to do the challenge that way. Below is a picture of what my legs and butt look like before the 30 day squat challenge. I’ll post a picture for day 15 and one for day 30. Hopefully we’ll be able to see a difference. Even if it’s not that much, I know I’ll feel different and feel good regardless.

DAY 15 OF THE 30 DAY SQUAT CHALLENGE!

Soo.. I started out with a 20lb dumbbell and went up to 30lb dumbbell on Day 10 because the 20lb dumbbell got too easy and I want to see results. I did miss one day, but I picked back up right where I left off. Below is a picture of my results after day 15 of the 30 day squat challenge. There’s definitely a little bit of a difference from day 1 (at least I think so), but even if you can’t see it, I have more time to get better results. My legs feel stronger and harder. Check back for day 30!

I must say that this challenge was a GREAT challenge for myself mentally and physically. To be honest with you all, I did miss several days during the challenge, mostly during the last week due to getting stuff situated with our move to Pittsburgh. This is also the reason why I’m so late on posting my day 30 pic. Anyways, you can’t see much of a difference between day 15 and day 30, which is most likely due to my inconsistency. But to be honest, doing this was more about the challenge than seeing exponential results. My legs and glutes feel a lot stronger and more tone, and it was a great way to start off my fitness lifestyle. I’ll be posting more pictures along the way on my progress as I go on this journey to make my life more fit and healthy.

    Hey guys just wanted to let you know I haven’t gave up! Just finished my day 11 with 110 squats and began using the 30 lbs dumbbell yesterday! Keep grinding, it does get easier (although upping my weight just made if difficult again, but we all need the challenge to see results)!

    Hey everyone Day 9 down. I started using resistance bands today! I hope I never have a medical reason that calls for no strenuous exercise!!! This has been a rough start but has felt so good to be back at it again! I actually saw a friend from college who I hadn’t seen for a while and she noticed a difference without me even saying what I had been doing! This was encouraging because I haven’t lost pounds but maybe inches because my pants are feeling loose!!!! EXCITED!!!! Thanks for motivated me to start!!!

      That’s good news! We all have to start somewhere. And, you’ll realize that once you’re consistent and you start seeing results, it becomes addicting. You’re going to want to see more, and see yourself in the best shape as possible and it’ll motivate you everyday to keep doing it. And rather than fitness and getting in shape being something you do, it will become a lifestyle. We’re definitely proud of you! Keep up the great work!

    Today is day 15! I can tell a difference and so can my hubby. IN pictures it may not be noticeable. Plan on posting photos later. I can definitely tell a difference in my legs. When I first began I couldn’t balance very well during stretches. Now I can do it without holding any thing to regain balance! I am so excited this is what I chose to begin motivating myself again! So happy with my results and I have started cardio workouts, and an ab challenge!!! I FEEL GREAT!!!

I’ve been slippin` a little on my last week because of us moving and having soooo much to do. But regardless I definitely feel a difference and can see the difference, so I definitely will continue working on my legs!

      I guess you don’t HAVE to.. but I think to see better results, it’s best that you use them. Just start out small and gradually increase your weight as each day goes by.. don’t do what you can’t do.. and it’s okay if you go down in weight during your sets as you get closer to day 30.

    I must gonna do 55 squats. Well, i do 3×20, because i’m veeeerrrryyyy lazy and i have not a condition…

      That’s awesome you’re participating in Holland!
      I don’t think you’ll lose the weight you want to lose just by only doing the squat challenge. The squat challenge really just tones your leg and butt muscles. I encourage you to add in cardio and a healthy diet to lose the weight you want to lose. Stay motivated and keep pushing! You gotta stray away from being lazy if you want to see results! =] Share your results with us! #strivengrind

    I’m going to start the squat challenge tomorrow! I can’t wait to see a difference in my legs! I’ve always been a skinny girl and I’ve tried everything to not look so scronny but I’m hoping this helps tone my legs and butt :)

      It well definitely help you tone ! But if you want to see drastic results, you’ll have to combine the squat challenge with other leg workouts everyday. Good luck!

        Are there certain leg work outs you would recommend ? And does using a dumb bell give better results ?

          Adding weight to any exercise will give you better results. Do other exercises like Lunges with weights, leg extensions, leg curls, and leg press.
          Remember the squat challenge is JUST a challenge, for maximum results you’ll have to work out your legs longer than 30 days.

    I have been doing the squat challenge and my results are showing well. The pictures on the left are my results from day 9 of the squat challenge. My pictures on the right are before I started the squat challenge. I started off using two 3 pound dumbells and now I am using a 13 pound weight. If you are thinking about doing it. DO IT.

    I’m now at day 5! I did some more then it says in the chart. :) On day two, i’ve set my goal at 60, and made 70 :) I haven’t worked out in years. I’m chronically ill and I had a few bad months. I dind’t got any workout, even riding a bicycle was too much.

    So i’m very glad I started this, and that I’m so motivated to set a higher goal. I didn’t use weights, but I bought 2x 0,5kg to start with. I can’t wait, I measures my legs seperately and my bum. I’m going to measure every week. I really hope to see some results, cause my muscles are very weat unfortunately.
